Fraser Cup Format

Mar 27, 2025

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) concludes its season with the Fraser Cup Championship, a tournament that determines the league’s national playoff champion. The 2025 Fraser Cup Championship is being held from March 26 to 30 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex in St. Peters, Missouri.

The tournament features six teams: the five divisional playoff champions and one wild card team. These teams are divided into two pools for a round-robin format:

Pool A:

1. West Bend Power (Central Division Winner)

2. Helena Bighorns (Frontier Division Winner)

3. New Mexico Ice Wolves (Wild Card Team)

Pool B:

1. Granite City Lumberjacks (West Division Winner)

2. Louisiana Drillers (South Division Winner)

3. Binghamton Buzz (East Division Winner)

Each team plays two games within their pool. The top two teams from each pool advance to the semifinals, where they cross over to play the top teams from the opposite pool (i.e., Pool A’s first-place team faces Pool B’s second-place team, and vice versa). The winners of the semifinals then compete in the Fraser Cup Championship game.

The New Mexico Ice Wolves secured their spot in the Fraser Cup as the wild card team, having the highest points percentage among teams that lost in the divisional finals. In Pool A, they are set to play against the West Bend Power and the Helena Bighorns. To advance to the semifinals, the Ice Wolves need to be one of the top two teams in their pool based on their performance in these games.
