Takeaway #1: Great pace and energy.
Mini camp wrapped up on Sunday, Sept. 1, for the Ice Wolves with the best game of the weekend. Head Coach Darren Banks has been pleased with what he has seen in camp, “With the final game on Sunday, we restructured the teams as Turquoise took a 3-0 lead. With the teams rejuvenated it was the best game of the weekend. They played three, twenty-minute stop time periods. With good pace and energy, we look forward to getting started on Monday with regular practice.”
Takeaway #2: Focusing on the future.
With camp officially complete Assistant Coach Alex Gilbert is ready to look towards the future, “Now that training camp is started we are shifting focus to setting the standard for what we expect every day.”
Takeaway #3: Comradery within the group.
The returning players have already started bonding with the newcomers. As anyone would know, having a close team is key to a successful team as the season truly begins to move forward. Alex Gilbert is looking forward to next weekend’s preseason games in Colorado, “We know the players are already coming together and believe this will be a very close group. We look forward to our series next weekend in Colorado against the Colorado Rampage U18 AAA.”
